Silent Gliss fabrics can play a pivotal role in creating comfortable living and working environments by skilfully managing heat, light, and glare. In living spaces, these fabrics act as thermal regulators, effectively controlling the influx of sunlight to maintain optimal temperature levels. In work settings, shading fabrics become indispensable tools in optimizing the productivity and well-being of individuals. 

As our planet gets warmer our homes and workspaces are overheating. Solar transmission occurs when solar rays penetrate windows heating up the air, furniture, and surfaces, resulting in thermal mass.

Selecting fabrics with a low solar transmission (Ts) value, and a high solar reflectance value (Rs), effectively mitigating overheating. Metallised fabrics have an aluminium backing which significantly increases heat reflection, delivering excellent heat-to-daylight ratio.

Using carefully selected fabrics from The Collection can enhance productivity and ensure adherence to regulatory standards, particularly at workstations. Silent Gliss have incorporated a selection of screen fabrics to manage light transmittance (Tv) which curtail and regulate the intensity of light entering a room. 

Prolonged exposure to solar rays found in natural daylight will damage furniture and surfaces so we recommend fabrics with a low UV value.
